Retiring Items

Close to My Heart is changing to a Bi-Annual Idea Book and the first one will go live February 1st, 2011. That means that the a lot of items in the current Idea Book are retiring and will be available at a first come first serve basis. The new paper packs and the new stamp sets will NOT be retiring but that is about it. Crazy I know! But that means that come February we will be getting a TON of new product and I am super excited about that! That also means that December is the perfect time to snag some of your favorite items before they are gone. Why you ask? Because in the month of December if you place a $20 on my website (here) you will receive a D-sized stamp set FREE. Close to My Heart will just send it with your order. Workshop on the Go!

I love the Workshops on the Go. They are so easy and fun and a great value! In each Workshop kit you get a Level 2 paper pack, a B-size stamp set (that is exclusive to the kit!), embellishments and a brochure that shows you how to make a two page scrapbooking layout and 6 cards. The retail value is always right around $35 and you get it for $29.95! That is like getting the embellishments for free! Each workshop offers a new technique, in the Mistletoe workshop I learned about the rock n' roll technique and I have fallen in LOVE with it and am using it everywhere!

I offer my house twice a month for anyone interested in getting together to put their kits together. That way you don't have to buy your own inks and tools (unless you want to!), I will have these on hand for everybody to use. I hold these workshops on the third Tuesday and third Saturday of every month from 8-10 pm. If you are interested and these times don't work for you, let me know and I will try and work something out!

In December we will be using the Mistletoe kit and in January we will be using the Wings kit (yup a new paper pack and a sneak peak at the Spring 2011 Idea Book!)

One of my Favorite Things

Close to My Heart has so many wonderful products that sometimes it is hard to pick just one to be my favorite, but I have done so! Do you want to know what it is? Of course you do, so here it is


Okay so I really couldn't just pick one, I had to pick two! The first is the workshop on the go kits. These are AMAZING! Each kit comes with a full level 2 paper packet (24 patterned paper and 10 coordinating cardstock), a stamp set, embellishments and an awesome guide to show you how to make a two-page scrapbook layout AND 6 cards. I usually have a ton of left over paper and embellishments. Oh so fun!

My other favorite is Close to My Heart's How-to books. These are AWESOME! There are 4 books geared towards scrapbooking and 2 that are for cardmaking. These babies take the guess work out of making beautiful layouts and cards in a jiffy. No seriously, each book has beautiful artwork, easy to follow cutting guides (no more wasting paper trying to figure out the exact size of something!), easy to follow step by step instructions and wonderful tips and techniques. I can easily finish one two page layout fully embellished during a nap time, which is kind of important at this house!

Hooligans Workshop on the Go

I LOVE the new Hooligans paper from Close to My Heart! They are perfect for those Halloween photos! I also am in LOVE with the stamp set that comes with the Hooligans Workshop on the Go kit. It is super fun to mix and match and make your own little monsters. The kit is $29.95 and can be ordered here

The workshop on the go kit comes with a colored brochure showing how to make the above layout and cards (step by step instructions, so easy to follow, LOVE it!) It also comes with a full level 2 paper pack (24 sheets of patterend paper, 10 coordinating cardstocks) as well as a full embellishment packet that coordinates too! If you live near me you can always sign up and pay $15 and get half a level 2 paper pack and the brochure and embellishments, plus a few extra papers to complete the project. This is if you don't want the stamp set, but let's be honest, who wouldn't want that adorable stamp set!
