2012 Here I COME!

I am back and getting all excited for 2012! There will be a few changes coming in 2012, one is that I am planning on posting at least once a week in 2012, that way I can show more artwork and keep you up to date on the specials that Close to My Heart has. Another change is more artwork! Wahoo right?!? I am participating in an awesome class taught over at Big Picture Scrapbooking called Twelve. It is taught by Stacy Julian and should get me in the creative mindset this year (seeing as I should be making 12 layouts a month!). If anyone is interested in this class (or in any of the other classes that are available) please tell them that I sent you by using the following referral code (67875594) or click here.

I hope you are all as excited about this upcoming year as I am!

Also don't forget to check out my website (here) for new Sale items and to get the Rock the Block set (a sneak peak from the Spring/Summer Idea Book and an exclusive E size stamp set that is amazing!) For Ideas on how to use your Rock the Block check out this blog hop (here) These ladies really have done some pretty creative things!

January Workshop

In the month of January we are going to have a scrapbooking workshop using the Wonderland Workshop on the Go (G1031). I loved putting these pages together and can't wait to print my snow pictures from last year! The Wonderland paper is becoming one of my favorites out of this Idea Book, I love the colors and the fun polka dots and stripes. For the workshop we will be completing two 2 page layouts, the one pictured above and another one (I can't seem to get a good picture of it, sorry!)

If you are just wanting the paper pack and the embellishments your workshop cost would be $21 (this includes tax and shipping). If you want the Workshop on the Go Kit that includes the paper pack, embellishments, stamp set and instructional brochure your cost would be $34.95 (this includes tax and shipping as well!)

You can participate in this workshop in 3 ways:
1. You can attend the workshop on January 14th at my house at 8 pm.
2. You can participate long distance by purchasing the Workshop on the Go kit.
3. You can buy the completed layouts from me for $20.

For each of the above options just RSVP by January 3rd.

Also if you are thinking you will be able to attend, go ahead and order your supplies on your Black Friday order and you can earn a few freebies!

Christmas Card Workshop

(sorry for the bad pictures, but I haven't had a sunny day this week!)
So I have been working on this project for awhile and I am super excited to share it with you all! I try every year to do a 50 card workshop. I usually use regular old 4 1/2 by 5 1/4 card bases, well not this year! This year I decided that it would be a little more fun to do 5x7 cards and I am so excited about it! The cards this year feature the Sonoma paper pack (X7143B), the Cocoa Ribbon Collection (Z1316) and the Glory to God stampset (D1483). I really love the elegant feel that the color combination of Sonoma gives these cards. You will have 10 copies of 5 different card designs. The beauty of this workshop is that you can make each one of these cards different by changing the orientation, color combination and stamp allowing you to make 50 completely different cards, or make each of the 5 designs exactly the same, it is up to you!

The workshop cost is $30. This includes the card bases and envelopes, paper and ribbon (just add $17.95 if you are wanting to own the stamp set).

You can participate in this workshop in a couple of ways:
1. Attend the workshop at my house on December 10th at 8 pm.
2. Long distance. To participate long distance you will need to order the stamp set and ink pads used. I will send you the card bases and all the pages cut to make the cards along with instructions on how to assemble them.
3. You can purchase a finished kit for $50 (that is just $1 a card for handmade Christmas cards!) I will send you all 50 cards put together and ready to be sent!

For all of the above options please RSVP through an email or phone call by the 1st of December to ensure that you will have your materials for the workshop and so that you can get your materials and or cards from options 2 and 3 in time to be sent out for Christmas.

Don't forget you can order these supplies on your Black Friday order to receive a few freebies! (The paper and ribbon count towards the order (17.90) the card bases are purchased elsewhere.)

Stupendous Stamping Specials

There are 3 amazing specials going on right now with Close to My Heart. These specials only coincide for two weeks, so if you are interested you had better hurry! So here is how it works in some easy to do steps:

#1 Purchase $50 in Close to My Heart product and become eligible for the August stamp of the month for $5.

#2 Purchase the August stamp of the month for $5($17.95 value). Your total at this point is $55. And now you get the "a Typeset" stampset for FREE ($6.95 value).

Sweet right, how could this get any better? Well step number 3 is going to tell you how!

#3 Purchase an additional $20 worth of product ($75 before shipping and tax) and you will become eligible to receive a double set of D size stamps. Yes Close to My Heart has put together two D-size stampsets and they are giving them away for free (a $35.90 value). They are called "pair-a-phrase" and the images are so cute and I love the quotes on them.

Awesome right?!?

If you are trying to come up with something to buy (let's be honest that is NOT the hard part with all the amazing product that just came out this month!) why not go ahead and get the Cricut cartridge bundle, Art Philosophy. Remember that this bundle comes with 3 stampsets and 3 chipboard sheets with shapes that match the stamps and the images on the cartridge. I haven't had the time to play with mine yet, mostly because I don't have a cricut :), but I can tell you that I am super excited about it!

Anyway, watch in the next couple of days for some artwork by me featuring the stampsets that you can get for FREE with the $75 purchase, and the August stamp of the month. To order just email me (sharesalarsen@gmail.com) or call (360-619-2580) or click here to make a purchase on my website. As an added bonus I will be giving away a free card using the "Pair-a-phrase" stamp set and Typeset paper for everyone that participates in this months specials.

Elemental Layout

So I am just in love with the Elemental paper pack (X7141B, $9.95). It is so fun to work with and has a ton of different colors to choose from. Like the birthday cards in the last post are mostly cranberry and pacifica while the layout today is focused on creme brulee and lagoon. Today I am sharing a layout that I made using product from the new Idea Book.

These are some fun summer photos from June. (I am not one who scrapbooks in order, I just scrapbook whatever photos fit with my paper and this way I don't feel terribly behind:)
My littles love to have outside time with daddy and the swing set, so I thought I would capture some of these moments so that we can always remember those little things.

Here is a close up of the Color Ready Alphabets Cork (Z1450, $5.95) and the Milepost Shapes (Z1464, $3.95). I LOVE the cork alphabets. They are self adhesive and I can add any darker color I want to them (just allow plenty of time to dry). I love the dimension that both the milepost shapes and the cork give to the layout. So fun! I also used the Bronze glitz glitter gel (Z1483, $2.75) to add a little sparkle. By the way I am in love with this product too! It is like having a bottle of bronze sparkle brads and it is super inexpensive.

Here are some close-ups of the second page. I used the Love Life stamp set (D1482, $17.95) for the stars and also along the top adding a little border to add a little more depth to the layout. (Can you tell I had an awesome class by Tresa Black at convention regarding glitz and depth to scrapbooking?) The Love life stamp set is one that coordinates with the new Cricut Cartridge that is exclusive to Close to My Heart. I will be doing a separate post on that later (once I earn enough money to get me a cricut! Or August 15th when purchasing the cricut cartridge bundle becomes an amazing deal) I also used a stampset that was exclusive to the You and Me kit for the tickets (sorry if you missed it!) To make the ticket that has the date on it, I stamped one of the other tickets and cut it out and used the backside to do add the date. I hope you are enjoying the new products that are available in the new Idea Book. If you haven't yet seen it just click here to see it online. If you want a hard copy just let me know!

Happy Scrapping!

Sick!

I am so sorry, my goal has been stepped on by a silly cold bug that seems to have attached itself to me and won't let go. It all started with my littlest lady who threw up all over me on Friday and since I had been stressing out and working hard on another project my body decided that it needed the flu/cold as well. Let's just say that I wasn't the only one. My husband went back to work today for the first time all week. Yup, sick! So I will add a week onto the month long of layouts. Sorry everyone! I hope you will stick around until I am better. See you all next week!

Miracle Layout

Here is a layout using the Miracle paper pack (X7133B), Treetops stamp set (C1368), Bohemian Alphabet (E1019), Kraft color-ready borders (Z1377), Sweet leaf stamp pad (Z2153) and a layout from Magic (9034) (if you couldn't tell I am lovin' the Magic book!). I also used one of the Memory Protectors Photo Storage Pages (4113) I just cut one in half to make the flippy, pully (made those terms up, I am not sure what the technical term is) photo strips.
